Abstract

The complex relationship between telecommuting and travel behaviour poses a challenge for accurately quantifying the emission effects of telecommuting. Despite the advancements in activity-based travel demand models, current approaches fall short in accounting for this relationship. As such, there is a need to develop a model that can address this issue. Through the combination of advanced econometric approaches with methods from operations research, the aim of the research is to develop a model that can account for this complex relationship. This model will be used as part of an agent-based travel demand model, enabling a more accurate assessment of the impact of telecommuting on travel behaviour and emissions.
